Memory Box

Memory Box was inspired by the river that cuts though the floor of Gallagher’s Canyon in Kelowna, British Columbia.

This piece incorporates photographs of the site, found natural materials and recorded sounds of the river and birds that live on the banks of the river.

When the lid of the box is opened sounds of the river and birds are heard coming from underneath pine cones gathered from the site.

The table is made of windfall branches and beaver chewed sticks from the river.

Memory Box was included in a Scholastic Publications book, Now See This: Art That Influences
